Guess who figured out Bipolar? This guy! 
I've successfully figured out how mobius, bipolar, and ovoid3d work, and I'm considering writing a blog post on what they do and how to use them. It turns out, all are very similar with some key differences.
My biggest problem right now is reducing the number of transforms I use. Other people may be able to run 17, but my poor machine has a hard enough time with 9, and I know I will either need more and/or I just need to work carefully and creatively under the limitations I have.
